A new wrestling star is quickly becoming a fan favorite after a breakout moment that took everyone by surprise. His unexpected appearance at WWE and AAA’s Worlds Collide event got people talking, and later, when he was seen in the crowd at Money in the Bank, the reaction was massive. Since then, WWE has been moving fast, and it seems he will not be heading to NXT like most new talents.
The rising AAA sensation, Mr. Iguana, impressed fans with his fun energy, colorful style, and playful iguana puppet, La Yezca. His presence quickly went viral, and WWE responded by airing a video package about him on RAW. He later appeared briefly on NXT, but that was not a long-term move, WWE already has plans to bring him straight to the main roster.
WWE skipping NXT plans for Mr. Iguana
In a recent interview with Línea Directa TV, Mr. Iguana shared what WWE told him. They do not want him to go through the NXT system. Instead, they are moving him right to the top.
“I’m there effectively. Like literally I was in the Performance Center yesterday and they told me, ‘You’re not going through NXT, you’re heading straight to the main roster.’”
He also said he was taking pictures with WWE legend Shawn Michaels at the time. The reason WWE is pushing him so fast is simple, he has now become a top merchandise seller.
“I was literally taking pictures with Shawn Michaels and they told me they need you here because your shirt is the top seller in WWE, and you’re also the fastest-rising star when it comes to action figures and trading cards.”
His t-shirts, toys, and trading cards are selling really fast, and WWE sees him as a rising star. This has helped him get ahead of many others and hence, possibly land a top spot soon.
A childhood dream coming true for Mr. Iguana
For Mr. Iguana, this moment is very special. He said that being in WWE is what he had dreamed about since he was a child. He also thanked his hometown in Mexico, Culiacán, Sinaloa, for their love and support.
“Being in WWE is the dream of every child and I will have all the time in the world for my city because thanks to them and thanks to being culichi, I would not be where I am today.”
Right now, WWE has not confirmed when or where Mr. Iguana will debut. But it is clear they are very excited about him. He is already one of the most talked-about names, and fans are eager to see him in action on a bigger stage.
From a surprise crowd appearance to a main roster call-up, Mr. Iguana’s rise in WWE is happening really fast. If everything goes as planned, the audience may soon see him make his debut on RAW or SmackDown.
