Chelsea are in new talks with Borussia Dortmund over the transfer ofCarney Chukwuemeka, football.london understands, whilst also moving forward with a deal to sell Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Everton. Both players are available this summer as the window enters its final month.
Having spent lavishly already to bolster Enzo Maresca's squad, Chelsea still have a host of outgoings to complete before the September 1 deadline. The club are also continuing to negotiate with RB Leipzig for Xavi Simons.
The German side had enquired about the availability of Chukwuemeka during initial talks over Simons but they have not continued. Chukwuemeka is thought to be committed to returning to Dortmund, where he spent the second half of last season on loan.

Chelsea do have a release clause in his contract, worth around £40million, but have not found suitors willing to pay that price. They are no longer considering a loan for Chukwuemeka.
The 21-year-old joined in 2022 but has been constantly hampered by injury. Across three seasons he has only started four league games for Chelsea.
He is part of a major end-of-window clear-out that includes Armando Broja (heading to Burnley on a permanent deal) and Dewsbury-Hall. The latter only moved to Stamford Bridge last summer but found game time hard to come by.
Despite playing for Maresca at Leicester City, Dewsbury-Hall was peripheral to matters and played less than 300 league minutes. Of his 13 appearances, two were starts and most of his opportunities came in the Conference League.
Chelsea are happy to sell Dewsbury-Hall as they seek to fund yet more transfers in what promises to be a busy few weeks at SW6.On Sunday, Jorrel Hato was announced as the ninth signing, although Mamadou Sarr and Dario Essugo had agreed to join earlier in the year.
Hato is the latest player to be confirmed with Chelsea still working towards adding fellow Dutchman Simons. All parties remain confident of a deal being struck.
There has been a delay in his move as talks over a price and structure go on. The young attacker has a broad agreement over personal terms, which are not expected to be an issue.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have not ruled out bringing in another left-sided forward as Alejandro Garnacho remains on their shortlist. He is unwanted by Manchester United and free to leave. Chelsea have no yet made a bid for the player but could make a move late on in order to get favourable terms.
On the way out, Marc Guiu is set to join Sunderland on loan. Ben Chilwell, Raheem Sterling, and Axel Disasi are all looking for a new home and have no role in Maresca's setup.
