Global music sensation BTS is set to release its first live album, Permission to Dance on Stage – Live, marking a major milestone in the group’s career. The album will be officially available worldwide on July 18, while pre-orders begin on July 1 through both online and offline retailers. This marks the first comprehensive audio documentation of their successful world tour held between 2021 and 2022.
What the Album Includes
According to Variety, the upcoming release features 22 live tracks from the group's global Permission to Dance on Stage tour. Songs like “Dynamite,” “Butter,” “Life Goes On,” “Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey),” and “ON” will be available in live versions for the first time. These performances were captured during 12 high-profile concerts held in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.
Launched as a virtual event in October 2021, the tour eventually expanded to stadiums across three cities and drew a combined audience of more than 4 million fans, both in person and online. The album is expected to showcase the same high-energy sound and powerful stage presence that defined the live shows.
Digital Companion Release: Seoul Concert Special
In addition to the audio album, BTS will also release a digital companion titled BTS Permission to Dance on Stage – Seoul. This bonus content includes a 141-minute concert video from the group’s March 2022 show at Seoul’s Olympic Stadium. Fans can also look forward to a 92-page interview photobook filled with behind-the-scenes content, exclusive reflections, and candid moments from the band.
This digital version will be available through a card-based digital code that unlocks high-definition video-on-demand (VOD) access via the Weverse platform.
BTS Reunited After Military Service
This release also marks BTS’s first major project since all seven members — RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook — completed their mandatory military service. The group reunited in June, setting the stage for new music and future activities.
Debuting in 2013, BTS has become one of the most successful acts in the world. The group has scored six Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits since 2020 and performed multiple sold-out tours across the globe. BTS has also received multiple Grammy nominations and numerous awards from the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards.
Pre-Orders and Release Timeline
Fans eager to relive the tour or experience it for the first time can pre-order Permission to Dance on Stage – Live starting July 1. The album will be available on all major streaming platforms beginning July 18.
This release not only gives fans a way to revisit some of BTS’s most iconic performances but also signals a new chapter for the group following their full reunion.
