Sri Lanka Women vs Pakistan Women playing 11: With campaign over, will the teams try bench strength?

Send Push
Sri Lanka and Pakistan will faceoff in a dead rubber at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday. The co-host's journey has entailed fluctuating form and frustrating rain washouts.

In the first match, Sri Lanka showed that they have a strog bowling unit, reducing India to 124/6, before a revised DLS target of 271 proved to be too big. Their campaign was hampered with a washout against Australia and New Zealand.

However, they suffered a collapse against England while chasing 254 and slumped further with a massive 10-wicket defeat to South Africa. They then salvaged a thrilling seven-run win over Bangladesh.

Pakistan's campaign has not been better. It has been marked by moments of promise but has been overshadowed by recurring batting frailties. Their collapses against Bangladesh and India exposed vulnerability under pressure.

However, the bowling has fought hard. Despite spirited performances against Australia and England, they have struggled to close games. Rain washed out the match against New Zealand, before suffering a crushing 150-run loss to South Africa.
