Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Government hospitals affiliated with MGM Medical College, Indore, have emerged as the leading centres for plastic surgery in Madhya Pradesh, with over 50 surgeries performed daily, according to Dr Arvind Ghanghoria, Dean of MGM Medical College.
Dr Ghanghoria revealed on Wednesday that MY Hospital, along with the Super Speciality Hospital and Cancer Hospital, collectively conduct more than 50 plastic surgeries every day, a figure unmatched by any other government hospital in the state.

“Every day, MY Hospital alone sees an OPD footfall of nearly 4,000 patients, out of which over 50 are plastic surgery cases. This makes MGM-run hospitals the most active government centre for plastic surgery in Madhya Pradesh,” Dr Ghanghoria stated.
He also addressed public misconceptions surrounding plastic surgery, often glamorised in films. “People think plastic surgery is only about changing faces or appearances. But in reality, it involves life-changing procedures like restoring damaged limbs, treating severe burns, and correcting birth defects. It’s about function and dignity, not just looks,” he added.
The consistent volume of surgeries, combined with modern techniques and government-backed schemes like Ayushman Bharat, makes MGM College-affiliated hospitals a hub for accessible, advanced, and essential plastic surgery services in the state.
