BREAKING: Kate Middleton update as Kensington Palace issues statement on Donald Trump visit

The Prince and Princess of Wales had a private meeting with Donald Trump and his wife Melania today, Kensington Palacce has revealed.

William and Kate met the president and first lady for a short meeting after lunch on Mr Trump's unprecendented second state visit to the UK.

It came after the royal couple were tasked with greeting the president and his wife as they arrived in Windsor earlier today for a full day of engagements, including a glittering state banquet tonight.

Kensington Palace said the meeting between William, Kate and the Trumps was “warm and friendly” and took place inside Windsor Castle. No details of what was discussed by the two couples has been released by the Palace.
