She’s never been one to do things by halves, and now Gemma Collins is planning to turn her quest to become a mum into her biggest reality TV role to date. The former TOWIE star has long spoken of her desire to have children and she’s on a mission to turn her dreams into reality, with fans following her bid to finally have a baby of her own.
Her new eight-part Sky series, Four Weddings And A Baby, will follow The GC over the course of a year as she undergoes IVF treatment, while also planning her highly anticipated wedding to fiancé, Rami Hawash.
A source said, “She knows people can’t wait to see her journey into motherhood. She wonders if she’ll have a little mini-me, a mini GC. If anyone can manage a kid growing up on reality TV, it’s Gemma.”

The series will be a big earner for the TV personality, who’s never been shy about flaunting her lavish lifestyle.
“Her family, especially her baby and stepson [Tristan, seven]will always come first, but she’s more than happy to enjoy the benefits of a whole new money-spinning venture as a reality TV mum,” our source said. “She’s been there, done that and she knows what people want.”
Gemma’s former TOWIE co-stars, including Sam and Billie Faiers, and Ferne McCann, have all had successful TV spin-offs focusing on their lives as new mums, so Gemma knows a whole show about her baby dream will be TV gold. “Obviously it will do her career good, but it’s also about women supporting women and showing people they’re not alone,” said our source.
Glamorous Gemma, who’s famed for her love of luxury labels, is already said to be planning nothing but the best for her baby. “The baby will be dressed head to toe in designer gear, and totally surrounded by love,” the source added.
But while the Essex girl might be known for her diva behaviour and comical outbursts, our source says her new TV project will reveal the star’s softer side.

“The show is going to be very open and honest, with Gemma being about as far away from the Gemma we saw on TOWIE as she could be. She has always seen herself as relatable – once she strips away all the glamour and the ‘diva’ label – and she knows so many women are in the same situation as her. So she’s not afraid to share her experiences and feelings.”
Opening up about her decision to take part in the show, Gemma said, “This really is the most important year of my life, and for the first time people will get to see the Gemma behind The GC.
“I want to let the world see the real, raw me sharing the most intimate and personal times in my life. I feel ready to truly open up, not just about the present, but about my past and everything I’ve been through to become the woman I am today.”
At 44, Gemma is aware some viewers may question whether it’s too late for her to start a family, but the star is unfazed. “She knows not everyone can have a baby, or finds it easy to have a baby, so she can’t wait to share her own journey,” said our source.
“There are loads of other women who have had babies into their forties and, of course, it’s not easy, but Gemma isn’t naïve. She’d love nothing more than to get her wish and be able to share that with all of her fans through a TV show.”
Years of rocky romances – not least her on-off relationship with James ‘Arg’ Argent – meant Gemma delayed her baby plans. “She’s spent a long time building up her incredible career and hasn’t been prepared to settle for the wrong guy who won’t treat her well, or be the perfect match,” said our source.
“That means she’s obviously that bit older when it comes to starting a family.” Other celebrities who have had babies later in life are said to be a huge inspiration to her.
“She’s seen people like Tana Ramsay [who had her sixth child at 49] and Christine Lampard [whose son came along when she was 42] have their babies later, and she hasn’t doubted for a second that she’d be an amazing mum.
“She absolutely loves being a stepmum and she wants to share that side of herself on the show,” added our source.

As well as trying for a baby with Rami, who she first met in 2011, Gemma will be planning a spectacular wedding with the 50-year-old businessman.
Speaking last month, The GC told of her plans for a “mythical” themed bash, revealing that she took spiritual guidance before scheduling her big day.
“Absolutely it will be 2026,” she said. “I spoke to my astrologer and that is the year to get married.” While the star is yet to decide on a venue, she says her close pals, Irish pop duo Jedward, will be performing at the event. “Absolutely, they will be singing,” she confirmed.
“They’ll definitely have a major role in the big day.” Our source added, “The wedding might be bigger than Jeff Bezos’s, but for Gemma it’s all about family – and the baby she’s longed for since she was a little girl.”
