Love Island's Helena breaks down in tears as she's brutally dumped days before final

The Love Islandvilla were left in tears tonight as Helena and Blu were brutally dumped from the Island just days before the final.

On Tuesday night, viewers were given the chance to vote for their favourite couple, and those with the lowest votes were at risk of being dumped from the Island.

It was no shock to fans that Helena and Blu had been dumped, as they were the only friendship couple left in the series. It came after a heartbreaking few weeks for Helena, who dumped by Harry days after going exclusive. Shakira dumped Conor after not feeling like her usual self, admitting she still had feelings for Harry.

Harry assured her the feelings were reciprocated and in a shock move, his 'exclusive' relationship with Helena was over. Blu did try to form a romantic relationship with Helena, although she revealed she needed him as a friend for now.

After Meg read out the text that her best friend Helena and Blu had been dumped, the Islanders rushed to comfort Helena, as Harry looked close to tears.

The two hugged it out and laughed, as the rest of the Islanders burst into a round of applause.

Helena broke down in tears while saying bye to the girls, as she told said: "The last seven weeks have been incredible, and although it didn't work out in the end, I've grown into a person I didn't know I could become. And that's because of you guys."

Blu on the other hand, had a more positive approach, as he laughed to the boys: "At least I lasted longer than last time!"

As Helena made her exit, Shakira said it was "a weight lifted off her shoulders" that Helena had gone, as she didn't have to worry about cuddling Harry while she was around.

Blu's dumping comes just weeks after he re-entered the villa after being dumped at the start of the series - and once again, failed to form a romantic connection.

However, former Islander Megan, who came back with him picked up where she left off with partner Conor, and they seem to be stronger than ever.

With the final taking place on Monday August 4, who will walk away victorious?
