Barcelona and Manchester United are getting close to a deal which will see Marcus Rashford join the Spanish giants on loan with an option to make the move permanent.
The United academy graduate, 27, is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Aston Villa after falling out with Ruben Amorim. The talented forward was always likely to move again this summer and it's no secret that Barcelona has long been Rashford's preferred destination.
And after weeks of speculation, it seems as though Rashford - part of Amorim's five-man 'bomb squad' at United's Carrington training ground - will finally get his wish.
Talks over an initial loan move between the clubs have begun, with the outline of an agreement reached - although the finer details still need to be sorted. Rashford's signing has already been approved by the Barca boss, Hansi Flick, after talks with the England international.
Rashford would initially head to the Nou Camp on loan with an option included for the arrangement to be made permanent at a later date.

Although United would prefer to offload Rashford permanently, a loan move will still benefit them in their bid to raise funds for further incoming transfers and they have agreed to the terms of the proposed deal, with talks now in the final stages.
Rashford is one of the club's highest earner on £325,000-a-week; Villa paid two-thirds of that package plus bonuses when they signed him on loan back in January.
The deal will also benefit Barcelona, whose financial difficulties in recent years have been well documented.
The Spanish giants have been seeking a new left winger all summer and had agreed personal terms with Nico Williams over a transfer before the Athletic Club star had a late change of heart and opted to stay put.
Barca have also pursued Luis Diaz but Liverpool insist the Colombia star is not for sale.
When he was asked about signing a new winger this summer back in May, Flick said: “This is what we have talked about with the club. In the last matches maybe we did not have a lot of options in that position… so we have to bring more options to the team and more quality. This is the job from Deco, is clear, and I will support him.”
When he was asked about interest in Rashford and Diaz specifically, Flick added: “I don’t want to speak about players which are not in my team, but of course Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford are fantastic players. I like them and we’ll see what happens.”
