New MasterChef: The Professionals judge Matt Tebbutt, 51, found himself face to face with the star his wife Lisa had branded a "proper man", during an appearance on Simon Rimmer's Pod In The Park earlier this year.
Back in June, Matt and Olympic champion rower Sir Steve Redgrave, 63, were both guests on the Sunday Brunchhost's podcast, prompting the chef to confront the athlete over the awkward snub.
Towards the end of the trio's chat, Matt, who is replacing Gregg Wallace on the BBC show, interjected: "Something’s just leapt into my brain. So... many, many years ago, my wife used to work at a jewellery shop.

"So, 30 years ago this was, you came into her shop and she said to me, ‘guess what? Steve Redgrave came into the shop today’, and I went, ‘oh really? That’s nice’.
"And she went, ‘oh he’s a proper man’. And this was before we were married, and I’ve held onto this until this moment," the Saturday Kitchen host admitted, prompting laughter from both Steve and Simon.
Fortunately, despite being charmed by Sir Steve, Matt eventually won Lisa over, and they have been married for over 25 years. The couple share two grown-up children, daughter, Jessie, 22, and son, Henry, 20.
Matt and his other half previously worked together, running the Foxhunter pub in Nant-y-derry, Wales.
The TV chef told The Mirror: "Working alongside each other was tough, but we’re still together. We worked well as a team – Lisa is great with people, whereas I'm the bolshie chef in the kitchen.
"She definitely wears the trousers, no question… followed by my daughter!"
Matt and Lisa tend to keep their family life out of the spotlight, but the TV star did share a proud moment with Jessie at her graduation with fans, after revealing: "I've just had a text from my daughter. Proud dad moment. She got a first at university."

The star also posted a selfie with his son Henry while dropping him off at St. Andrews University, captioning the 2022 post: "Turns out the Boy’s gone to Hogwarts .. otherwise known as @uniofstandrews."
This morning, on Saturday Kitchen, Matt announced his new role on MasterChef: The Professionals, joining fellow judges Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti.
He is replacing former judge Gregg Wallace, who lost his job in July after a report upheld 45 allegations about his conduct on MasterChef, including one of unwelcome physical contact and three of being in a state of undress.
Gregg said he was "deeply sorry for any distress" he caused, but claimed that he had "never set out to harm or humiliate".
The report also upheld a separate claim of using a severely offensive racist term against Gregg's MasterChef co-host John Torode, who did not present on MasterChef: The Professionals. Torode said he had "no recollection" of the incident and that any racist language is "wholly unacceptable".
Both hosts were sacked and the BBC his yet to announce who will replace the duo on the main amateurs series of the show.
