Miriam Margolyes has shared a health update during an appearance on This Morning with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.
Ahead of the release of her new book, the Professor Sprout actress, 84, revealed she'd recently undergone a procedurethat turned out to be "messy."
"It's wonderful to be old and working," she began, while munching on an onion during the conversation with Cat and Ben.

"I did a poo test this morning, it was vivid. It was difficult to know, I don't want to go into details," she began.
"I just want to tell people they must have a poo test," she went on, urging followers to take on the "life-saving" procedure.
She added, "It went on a bit longer than I expected, that's all."
Reassuring Cat and Ben of her test results, she said, "I'm sure it's all right; it could be a bit messy."
"I think doctors should find a better way of finding out," she continued. "I put it in a perfume bag to soften the blow," she added.
"I don't mean to be crude, I think of myself as quite sophisticated, but out pop these things, what can I do?"
Miriam elsewhere spoke about her bond with the King and Queen, calling them kind, sensible, and "good hosts".
"I really like them, very, very much," she said, before recalling an "issue" she once called with Queen Camilla.
"I was trying to curtsy, and I'm unsteady on my feet now because I've got spinal stenosis, so I held on to her majesty and suddenly I tottered, and I could feel that she was tottering too.
"I thought I would bring her down on top of me which I didn't want! I may be gay but there are limits!"
Miriam clarified that Queen Camilla, who is "stronger" than her, was able to steady her back on her feet before any chaos ensued.

This comes after Miriam's comments about her health, after being diagnosed with spinal stenosis - a condition which puts pressure on the spinal cord and nerves, and can cause pain and muscle weakness.
She also underwent surgery in 2023, which saw her have a transcatheter aortic valve replacement to avoid further invasive open-heart surgery.
She told Closer in 2024: "I can’t walk very well, and I’m registered disabled, so I use all kinds of assistance.
‘I’ve got two sticks and a walker and they’re such a bore, but I’ve just got a mobility scooter, which is a lot of fun."
She also recently said she feels "foolish" for not taking "care" of her body.
"I’ve let my body down. I haven’t taken care of it. I have to walk with a walker now," she said.
"I wish I’d done exercise. It’s the most ghastly waste of time, except that it keeps you going. So, I’m foolish."
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
