Channel 4 viewers were left baffled during the first episode of The controversial show sees 12 adults head on a retreat to take part in a bespoke intimacy course.
They are hoping to overcome their fears of sex and intimacy with the help of . The virgins have to take part in various exercises that aim to raise their self-esteem throughout experiential sex therapy.
During the first episode, the virgins were tasked with an introduction to intimacy -They watched the show experts demonstrate some explicit moves, before having to write their own sexually inspired story.
The virgins were tasked with reading them out to the group, with some thriving at the task while others were more reserved. However, it was contestant Zac, 28, who caught viewers attention.
He appeared the most confident through the first episode on Monday night as he took on the tasks with an open mind. The show's most controversial treatment involves the use of a surrogate partner - a professional who can be physically intimate with their client if they are ready to do so.
Zac made the bold confession that he was already ready to go all the way with a surrogate. The surrogate was introduced to Zac to take slow steps to build up to sex, including holding hands and rubbing her face on his arm.
Zac was told he needs to build a connection with Kat before sex, as their bond takes time to nurture. However, he told her: "I want more."
Kat said: "It is a process. I wouldn't do more than that with anyone on the first session." Zac responsed: "I would like to go all the way. I would like to have sex with you."
Viewers were baffled by Zac's progress as one said: "Zac does know there’s more than one episode of this show as he’s not wasting much time is he."
Another added: "Zac is going to be known as ‘Top Shagger’ at the end of this." Someone else commented: "Zac is at it."
As the show kicked off on Monday night, One said: "What the hell is this?" Another added: "What. The. Actual. F**k.?!?!" Someone else commented: "Didn't think tv would get any lower, then pops along."
A fourth wrote: "It feels wrong to be watching this." Another viewer shared: "This is just getting disturbingly now." "Anyone else a bit creeped out by this show?," asked one viewer.
"This is so exploitative. I’m panicking myself, and I’m watching it at home!! I can’t even imagine being one of them right now. This is awful," wrote another.
Detailing what to expect, expert Celeste told the : "A surrogate partner therapist works in conjunction with a traditional licensed therapist and then a client.
"The therapist is there so if anything emotional comes up for the client that they have someone to process it with, and the surrogate partner can go step-by-step through erotic experiences."
She added: "Everything from basic touching to getting comfortable with nudity and then all the way through to manual sex, oral sex and even intercourse, depending on what’s needed for the particular client."
