The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) launched the FASTag Annual Pass on Independence Day, August 15, 2025, offering a convenient and cost-effective toll payment solution. This annual pass works at about 1,150 toll plazas across National Highways and National Expressways and is designed for private vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans.
Massive Response on Launch Day-
By 7 PM on the first day, around 1.4 lakh users had booked and activated the FASTag Annual Pass.

Approximately 1.39 lakh transactions were recorded at toll plazas.

Around 20,000 to 25,000 users actively used the Highway Travel App during the day.

Annual pass holders received SMS alerts confirming zero deduction of toll charges during their journeys.

Price: ₹3,000 for one year.

Validity: One year or a maximum of 200 journeys, whichever comes first.

Purchase Channels: Available online via the official NHAI website or the Rajmargyatra mobile app.

Applicable Vehicles: Only valid for private vehicles; commercial vehicles are excluded.

Support: NHAI has deployed officials and nodal officers at toll plazas to assist users, and enhanced the National Highway Helpline (1033) with over 100 additional officials.

With an adoption rate of nearly 98% and over 8 crore users, FASTag has transformed toll payment systems across India, making highway travel smoother and more efficient.
