British bakery Greggs has announced the return of its festive menu, set to provide baked fan favourites nationwide from November 6.
Kicking off the new Christmas menu and labelled as a "rapturous riot of flavour" by TV sensation and cook Nigella Lawson, the Festive Bake will be back in stock from next week. Much like the Lush Snow Fairy cult following, this flakey pasty is a sign winter has finally arrived. Full of flavour, the filling includes tender chicken, sage and onion stuffing, sweetcure bacon, and a creamy sage and cranberry sauce. The pasty is priced at £2.10, or at £3.55 when part of the Bake And Drink Deal. The iconic menu also caters to vegetarians, vegans and those with an incurable sweet-tooth too.
The Vegan Lattice - the festive version more commonly known as the Vegan Festive Bake, will also feature on the seasonal menu. This will be filled with the Quorn™ chicken replacement, matched with sage and onion stuffing balls, vegan bacon, and cranberry and red onion sauce. The pastry is the perfect no-meat snack for savoury lovers, and matches its chicken counterpart in price.
Pasties are not all. The famous Hot Christmas Lunch Baguette will also make its return. Modelled as "Christmas dinner on the go," the baguette is full of cooked chicken, melted cheddar, sage and onion stuffing, sweetcure bacon, cranberry relish, and a dash of onion gravy. Under 500 calories, shoppers can purchase a Hot Christmas Lunch for £3.95. For nearly 100 calories less and 30p cheaper, the Hot Festive Flatbread contains sage and onion chicken, mayo, sweetcure bacon, and a tangy cranberry relish.
And with a Desi twist of the classic Margherita slice, Greggs will also offer a Chicken Tandoori Pizza for £2.50. Made with a focaccia style base, the pizza is finished with tandoori chicken, red onion and mayonnaise.
In true Greggs tradition, there is always an array of sweet treats to follow. Seasonal desserts include the Christmas Cake Slice for £1.45; the Gingerbread Muffin at £1.55; a Chocolate and Hazelnut Doughnut for £1.40; and the luxurious Christmas Mini Caramel Shortbreads for £2.25 - the first three on offer as part of the Sweet and Hot Drink Deal for £2.95.
Not shy of Christmas favourites, returning drinks include a Mint Mocha and Mint Hot Chocolate at £2.80 each; a spicy Gingerbread Latte for £2.75; its iced counterpart priced at £3.10; and a Salted Caramel Latte for £2.75 (£3.10 iced as well).
These offers are now available to order via the free Greggs App Click+Collect service. An additional Christmas treat can be found in the app's reward system where, for every nine purchases, app users can recieve a product for free. Additionally, first-time users will also receive a free iced/hot drink upon registration, and a sweet birthday treat each year.
