
Lasagne is one of the nation's favourite meals. TheItalian dish consists of stacked layers of pasta sheets filled with meat, tomato sauce, vegetables, bechamel sauce, and a variety of cheeses. You can enjoy it on its own or with a variety of sides, such as garlic bread, salad, or cooked vegetables.
While many people have their own twists and tricks to making the dish, there is one thing that the majority of people would agree on when making the dish, and that's using minced meat. However, swapping the key ingredient for this one thing is said to take lasagne to the next level.
BBC Good Food shared 10 game-changing tips that will make your lasagne taste so much better. The list was compiled because the classic dish was said to have "suffered as a result of the ready-meal revolution." While you can easily pick up a ready-made microwaveable lasagne, nothing will beat one that has been made fresh at home.
And if you want to take your lasagne to the next level, the first tip on their list is to eliminate minced beef and use chunky meat instead.
It writes: "Lasagne has evolved into a mince-based dish, but it can also be made using shredded, slow-cooked meat. Try stewing small chunks of meat that don't need shredding but do add texture to your dish."
The website also has a recipe which uses diced beef shin rather than minced beef.

To prepare the dish, you should fry the diced beef in a large pan for five minutes until it is browned. Remove it and set it aside to cook the vegetables and pancetta for 10 minutes or until the onion has softened.
Then add the beef to the pan, followed by wine, and bring it to the boil until the liquid has reduced by half. Pop in tomatoes, puree, stock, and sugar. Cook over low heat on a gentle simmer for two to two-and-a-half hours until the meat is tender. Once it's done, shred the meat using two forks and stir everything together.
Then simply layer your dish with the meat sauce, pasta sheets, white sauce, topping the last layer with cheese as you normally would and bake it for one hour until golden and bubbling.
