
An urgent search is underway off the coast of Scotland after a sailing dinghy failed to make it back to shore. Rescue teams from six locations - Ballantrae, Isle of Whithorn, Kirkcudbright, Portling, Stranraer and Portpatrick - arrived at Wigtown Bay, Kirkcudbrightshire, last night to hunt the vessel. The missing man is a 72-year-old, according to Police Scotland.
HM Coastguard was initially alerted last night, with rescue teams from Ballantrae, Isle of Whithorn, Kirkcudbright, Portling, Stranraer and Portpatrick sent alongside an HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter from Prestwick. Police are also in attendance. The search is ongoing.
