Just like most other things, the price of bread has gone up amid the current cost of living crisis. While there's still a possibility to find cheaper loafs in stores, it can be just as easy to make your own bread at home - especially if they only need a handful of ingredients.
If you're wanting to eat as 'clean' as possible and avoid preservatives or chemicals, making your bread yourself might be the best way to do it. This was what one woman named Jessy wanted to do, after inventing her own two-ingredient bread rolls.
Taking to Instagram, Jessy, who is better known as 'jessyinthegym' to her 30,300 followers, went on to share how you too can bake your own delicious bread rolls using ingredients you might already have at home.
"Homemade rolls because why is there 101 ingredients in bread," she wrote at the start of the video, where she was seen turning her overdish upside down in order to release the freshly made bread rolls onto a chopping board.
Jessy then continued to turn the bread rolls back around, careful not to burn her hands, as she went on to reveal the rolls in question only contained two ingredients.
You might wonder what kind of magic has been involved in the recipe, as most bread famously need at least three ingredients - flour, yeast and water.
But Jessy has cleverly managed to reduce the bread recipe ingredients even more, as she went on to share the simple recipe.
How to make two ingredient bread rollsIn order to make these delicious-looking bread rolls, Jessy shared the first thing you need to do is mix together plain Greek yoghurt and self-raising flour until it forms a dough.
While she didn't give out any exact measurements, one viewer took to the comments and shared they had successfully recreated the recipe, and ended up using 2.5 cups of Greek yoghurt and 2.5 cups of self-raising flour in order to form the dough.
After having made the dough, Jessy went on to roll it into 'handful' sized balls before filling a baking dish with the dough balls.
If you want flavoured bread, she went on to share another optional step, saying: "Optional: brush with melted butter, garlic & oregano."
She then put the bread rolls in the oven for 20-30 minutes at 120C fan. While viewers seemed amazed at the recipe, they quickly questioned if this was the right temperature.
One person went on to say that they had recreated the rolls, but changed the oven temperature to 175C instead, which many seemed to agree was a better temperature,
Another person added: "Yogurt breads made with self-rising flour typically bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35-45 minutes."
However, others simply complimented the recipe, as another viewer said: "They look amazing."
And if you're looking to make gluten free bread, someone else shared: "I made this with a Gluten free self-rising flour and it was so good! Just add 2.5 teaspoons of baking powder and 0.5 teaspoon of salt to your favourite GF flour and then proceed as she did. So good! First gluten free bread I've had in a while that wasn't dry."
