Police have launched a manhunt after a group of men allegedly sexually assaulted a woman and several teenage girls on the London Underground. British Transport Police (BTP) has released a photo of a man caught on CCTV footage in a bid to gather information about the incident, which happened at around 6:10pm on Tuesday, June 10.
A group of men are thought to have boarded the Piccadilly line train at Heathrow Terminal 5, before disembarking at Knightsbridge station after allegedly commiting the offences. BTP has appealed for witnesses of the incident to come forward and confirmed that a police investigation had been launched.
"Detectives investigating a series of sexual assaults on board a train in Knightsbridge Underground station have today released this image in connection," a spokesperson said.
"At around 6:10pm on June 10, a group of men boarded a Piccadilly line train at Heathrow Terminal 5 Underground station.
"While on the train, they sexually assaulted several teenage girls and an adult woman. They then got off the train at Knightsbridge Underground station.
"Detectives believe the man in the image may have information which could help their investigation."
The image shows a dark-skinned man with a slight beard and short black hair, who appears to be wearing a blue jacket with a white logo and black sunglasses in the full image released by authorities.
