The Girlfriend is the latest thriller sensation on Prime Video that has quickly caught fire amongst TV fans.
Olivia Cooke portrays a young, working-class estate agent named Cherry who falls in with a rich family when sparks fly with a trainee surgeon named Daniel (played by Laurie Davidson).
While their relationship seems perfect, Cherry doesn't bank on her new boyfriend's overprotective mother Laura (Robin Wright) having suspicions about her past.
The two women suddenly find themselves locked in a vicious feud that threatens to dig up past traumas and even threaten their careers.
All six episodes were released earlier this week on Wednesday, 10th September and has already cultivated a passionate following.
We won't spoil the shocking ending here, but needless to say the series ends on a gripping cliffhanger that seems to suggest another season.
Let's take a look at everything we know about The Girlfriend's future so far.
Will The Girlfriend return for a second season? At the time of writing, Prime Video has not confirmed the series will return for a second season.

The Girlfriend was based on the thriller book by Michelle Frances of the same name, which has a definitive conclusion and does not have a sequel published.
Even so, the events in the season finale seem to hint towards a continuation.
Speaking to the Express at the show's London premiere, producer Jonathan Cavendish hinted he's eager to continue the story despite no official word from Prime Video just yet.
"If people want a second one... episode six has what I'd like to think is a pretty decent cliffhanger," he explained.
"So, we originally thought 'No, we'll just make one'. Then, as we were going, we thought this is so good it would be a pity [to end it].
"But it's great to not think about another season until you get to an end and you realise there's a logic to a cliffhanger. And, I promise you, it's a good one."
Producer Cavendish's comments that the season finale was written with the view of continuing the story is as strong a sign as any that The Girlfriend will be back for more.
Subscribers will just have to hope the series has proven popular enough to warrant a renewal from the streamer, which likely won't be apparent for another couple of weeks.

In the meantime, author Frances has added she's keen for all of her books to be brought to the screen eventually.
She said: "I know from working in telly that things can take a long time and it's a precarious business.
"But it would be absolutely fantastic to have another one out there. Fingers crossed people enjoy watching it."
