Elon Musk responds to CEO Michael Dell's post celebrating 41 years of Dell

Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell recently marked the 41st anniversary of founding his company with a post on social media. Taking to microblogging site X, Dell wrote “41 years ago today, I was supposed to be studying for freshman finals. Instead, I started @DellTech with $1,000 and a dream.” In the post, he also thanked his team, customers, and partners for their role in the company’s journey, adding that he believes the next 41 years will be even bigger, driven by AI and new technologies.


“What an amazing journey it’s been thanks to our incredible team, customers, and partners. The next 41 will be even bigger and more fun power by AI and beyond. Onward!,” he said.



The post garnered Elon Musk ’s attention who congratulated Dell on the milestone. The Tesla CEO replied to Dell's post with a message: "Congratulations."




Michael Dell started his business in 1984 from his college dorm room at the University of Texas at Austin. Over the years, Dell Technologies has grown into one of the largest tech companies in the world, expanding from computers to cloud computing, AI, and enterprise solutions.


This is the second time in a week that Michael Dell and Elon Musk have interacted. Recently, Dell shared a funny story from the early days of his company. He said that 35 years ago, some of Dell’s engineers played a prank by putting a huge 25-foot gorilla on top of the company’s headquarters in the middle of the night.


“35 years ago, in the middle of the night, a bunch of our engineers decided to put a giant 25-foot gorilla on the top of our HQ,” Dell wrote on social media.





The post got many reactions from followers, including Musk who replied with a laughing emoji to show he found the story funny.
