PATNA: The INDIA bloc released on Tuesday its manifesto for the Bihar polls, promising jobs and numerous plans to take the state forward in the next five years if it is able to form govt,
The manifesto, nicknamed "Tejashwi Pran (Tejashwi's Resolve)", promises to provide a govt job to one member of each family within 20 months of forming govt and to create at least 1.25 crore govt jobs during its five-year tenure. "We have to save Bihar, not just form a govt," Tejashwi Yadav , the bloc's CM face, said. He said the Prohibition and Excise Act has completely failed, and if the INDIA bloc is voted in, they will remove the ban on toddy.
Released in the presence of Pawan Khera (Congress), Mukesh Sahani (VIP), Dipankar Bhattacharya (CPI-ML), and other Left members, Mahagathbandhan manifesto aims to implement a domicile policy to give priority to Bihar's youth in employment, regularise contractual jobs, and do away with outsourcing system. "Whenever a Bihari decides to do something, he completes it," RJD's Tejashwi Yadav said, adding while INDIA bloc came out with its CM face and also released its manifesto, "NDA has no vision for Bihar..."
The manifesto promises to implement old pension scheme, provide monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to women under Mai-Bahin Maan Yojana, offer 200 units of free power, and create IT parks and special economic zones. It plans to promote dairy-based and agro-based industries, provide free health insurance up to Rs 25 lakh to BPL persons and set up emergency ICUs in every sub-division.
The manifesto promises to provide all landless people with three decimals of land in urban areas and five decimals in rural areas and ensure a separate judicial system for issues related to the torture of Dalits and women. Financial aid up to Rs 2 lakh to one crore poor with a monthly income of Rs 6,000 was promised, apart from "doing away with 50% cap on reservations". The manifesto says its will ensure protection of constitutional rights for all minority communities and declares a hold on Waqf (Amendment) Act. He declared management of Buddhist temples at Bodh Gaya will be handed over to Buddhist communities.
Alleging some outsiders are trying to make Bihar their "colonies", Tejashwi announced he would not let it happen. "They want to capture Bihar, but we have to develop it," he said. He claimed officials have been instructed to "slow down" polling process at booths dominated by RJD voters. "But we are alert to the situation," Tejashwi said, urging officials not to be biased and work with honesty as the "masses are desperate for change".
