Elon Musk 's reaction to President Donald Trump 's back-to-back provocations went viral as social media watchers expected the second phase of Musk versus Trump showdown. The first phase took place when Elon Musk called Donald Trump a liar and accused him of being linked to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. That episode did not end well as Elon Musk had to apologize for crossing the line. This time Musk is not repeating his mistake, he made it clear, though he indicated that he's tempted.
"So tempting to escalate this. So, so tempting. But I will refrain for now," Elon Musk wrote reacting to a video in which Trump was reacting to a question on whether Elon Musk could be deported by his administration.
Elon Musk is a legal US citizen but the question of deporting him did not come from nowhere. Trump teased the possibility Monday night in a not-so-strange rant against Musk. Trump wrote that Elon Musk was aware that he was strongly against the EV mandate and still Musk endorsed him. Without government subsidies, Elon Musk would "probably" have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa, Trump wrote.
"Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate. It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one. Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!" Trump wrote.
When Trump was asked whether he thinks Elon Musk could be deported, Trump said he will have to look into it. And then he dragged DOGE and said the administration can probably turn DOGE on Elon Musk.
"You know what DOGE is? The monster that might have to go back and eat Elon. Wouldn't that be terrible? He gets a lot of subsidies," Trump said adding that he does not like EVs.
