Renowned police officer Daya Nayak, originally from Ennehole in Karkala, has been promoted to the position of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Mumbai. Prior to this, he served as a Senior Inspector with the Mumbai Crime Branch.
Nayak began his career in the police force in 1995 and rose to prominence for his role in combating the Mumbai underworld. By 2004, he was credited with conducting over 85 encounters against notorious criminals.
He has also served in the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and played a crucial role in curbing the drug mafia that had spread its tentacles across Mumbai in recent years. Nayak led several successful operations that dismantled drug networks operating in Mumbai and its suburbs.
His promotion is seen as a recognition of his years of dedicated service and effectiveness in dealing with organized crime and narcotics-related offences.
